This is a Wonderful interview with Dr. Melillo, one of the developers of the Brain-balancing protocols for Hemisphericity and the founder of the Brain-balancing Centers. Our program is based on his research and protocols. I think you will see why I think this is the ONLY way to help children with FDS (Functional Disconnect Syndrome) behaviors like ADHD.
It's a long interview but very meaty and some good suggestions for parents. Contact me with any questions!
By the way, Dr. Melillo will be releasing his 2nd book in April called Reconnected Kids.
We are now accepting new applicants to the program. I will be doing several introductory lectures and parents nights in April and May. Contact the office for dates and times.

Our Whole Child Wellness Open House was a great success!
If you missed our Open House on Wednesday, you missed a great opportunity to learn a lot about neurobehavioral disorders and how our Brain Balancing Program works. We had many parents, educators and medical professionals come and check us out, and we provided what we feel was a fun and interesting way to learn about our program. For those of you who were unable to make it, never fear.....we are already in the planning stages for our next Open House this spring.
One of the most frequently asked questions at the open house was- "how does this program differ from the behavioral therapy and all the other things I've tried before?"
Our program differs primarily in how we view ADHD and autism, and therefore how we treat it.
In the Whole Child Wellness program we determine the causes of hemisphericity through clinical exam, and work to remove them. Hemisphericity is the primary reason for the symptoms associated with neurobehavioral disorders. Once the causes are determined and removed, we then work to strengthen any deficits created by the weakened side of the brain.
I will discuss more about how our Brain Balancing program is different from other treatments and why our program is so successful for the treatment of ADHD, Asperger's, autism and learning delay in my next post.
If you have any questions for me or about this program, please feel free to e-mail me at staff.drflemming@embarqmail.com with ADHD in the subject line.
Yours in health,
Dr. Lois Flemming

Open House Scheduled for Whole Child Wellness
Whole Child Wellness is very pleased and excited to announce our first OPEN HOUSE, scheduled for Wednesday, January 26th, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend this interactive tour of our facility. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the techniques we use, and even give them a try yourself! Learn about the root causes of neurobehavioral disorders and what can be done to correct them. See first-hand, the scope of our comprehensive testing.
Our hope is for everyone to come away with the understanding that a diagnosis of ADHD, Asperger's, autism, or a learning disability is not a life sentence. There are options and these disorders can be corrected. Please join us for an evening of information, refreshments and door prizes. We may even have a few special guests who have completed our program, and started a new chapter in their life, free of the symptoms linked to their disorder! We hope to see you there!

It is such a rewarding experience to see the progress we are making with each of our Whole Child Wellenss children. What may seem like baby-steps to outsiders, are milestones for these kids and their parents. Seven year old "Devin" was able to complete a dot-to-dot unassisted for the very first time. The grandparents of ten year old "Travis" came to visit, noticed a positive change in his behavior, and wanted to know what Mom was doing different. "Stacey", thirteen years old, scored a goal in gym class! Nine year old "Oscar" wasn't given detention at all during October.
These milestones are all signs of the positive changes being made within the brain to help these children better process sensory input.
We are so proud of the work all of our children in the Whole Child Wellness program have accomplished, and of the dedication their parents have shown in their commitment to this program!

So this spring I applied for and was selected to be part of a very special training program. I am being mentored by a renowned and respected Swiss doctor who is an expert in the natural treatment of children with ADHD and learning disabilities. He has developed a program which accomplishes astounding results with these children--not just trying to control the symptoms, but truly treating the cause of these problems in a way that eliminates the need for medication so these children can live normal lives.
Over the past few months I have undergone very intensive and extensive training in his methods and have began treating children in our own commmunity in July. His methods are based on sound principals of science and backed up by years of clinical research. He himself has treated over 600 children suffering from ADHD, dyslexia, and other neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism.
This is a dream come true for me because I will be able to help you and this community a hundred times better. I am VERY excited about this opportunity!
I will keep you updated on what I am learning. Meanwhile if you know of any children or adults who might need my help, please pass this information on to them. Thank you for your support.
